Slide background

Services. GT2 Energia’s solutions provide a better use of energy inputs to attain the highest level of performance of the thermal and electric processes for different types of energy sources.

Full scope simulators are computer softwares that reproduce identically the behavior of industrial plants. The simulators HMI (Human Machine Interface) and accuracy allow realistic and comprehensive operator training, simulation of equipment failures and atypical maneuvers anticipation.

These systems also support decision making for experts and managers in maintenance shutdowns, in the safe operating conditions, and better understanding of the operating limits of the plant. GT2 Energia and Trax International offer customized simulation software for combined cycle and coal power plants and the capability to build simulators for different processes and industries:
  • Thermoelectric plants;
  • Hydroelectric plants;
  • Refineries;
  • Plataforms;
  • Siderurgy;
  • Mining;
  • Petrochemicals.
The simulators usage adds value to the process even before starting operation. There are many advantages, among them:
  • 35% reduction in commissioning time;
  • Reduction in start-up time;
  • Support to decision making;
  • Constant training;
  • Support to engineering;
  • Trips reduction;
  • Efficiency.
Our combined cycle power plant simulator (3-3-1, 720 MW), has six operating modes, with two operators feature, plus instructor station. Simulation training can be conducted in company or at GT2 Energia’s facilities in Rio de Janeiro. By hiring the course, your company will win 15-days use of PROTRAX Cloud ™.

With the goal of promoting constant innovation in the Brazilian electricity sector, the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica – ANEEL - regulated the Research and Development Program (R&D) to annually increase a minimum percentage of investment of companies in this program.

The regulations, guidelines and guidance for the preparation of these projects, guided by the search for technological innovations are in the R&D manual.

Activities related to R&D are carried out worldwide, and GT2 Energia is one of the pioneers in providing these services in Brazil. The team’s technical knowledge provides a wide range of projects that may be accomplished in the energy and energy-related sector.

With a highly specialized and multidisciplinary team, GT2 Energia works with speed, accuracy and solidity. Its solutions add the experience and skill of its engineers to handle, operate and develop solutions with a high level of technological innovation. Among them:

  • Conceptual projects for thermoelectric and cogeneration power plants;
  • Island studies;
  • Sizing and equipment setting;
  • Mass and energy balance;
  • Engineering flowcharts;
  • Process flowcharts;
  • Opex (Operation Expenditures);
  • Technical and economic viability studies;
  • Process optimization and performance evaluation;
  • Thermal and electrical simulation;
  • Technical reports;
  • Energy usage optimization;
  • Market analysis for new technologies;
  • Due Diligence;
  • Ventures evaluation;
  • Power increasing technology;
  • Repowering studies.
GT2 Energia, sponsored by EDF Norte Fluminense, through its Research and Development program, under Law 9.991 / 2000, ANEEL, has developed a robot for visual inspection of heat recovery steam generators, known as HRSGs. To our knowledge, the robot is unprecedented in the world.

The robot is able to climb the finned tubes of a HRSG carrying a mission pack that includes a camera that serves both for navigation and for the inspection of pipes and fins. The robot is able to enter into the boiler at a temperature of up to 80 degrees Celsius, and moves at 0.5 m/s, which significantly reduces equipment downtime. The task package also includes sensors that enable to locate the robot inside the boiler. Thus, when the operator identifies an item of attention and issues the report from the interface, it automatically records the coordinates in which the robot was at the time of the photo.

The robot has been successfully tested in one of Furnas Centrais Elétricas, UTE Santa Cruz HRSGs.

In addition to the inspection of HRSGs, the robot can be used for visual inspection of any metal surface difficult to access and up to 30 meters high, such as pressure vessels, tanks, chimneys, ship hulls, and other metallic columns.
